4 New Year’s Resolutions & Solutions
With 2010 coming to a close, now is the perfect time
to start thinking about making positive changes in the
New Year. And what’s at the top of everyone’s personal
to-do list?
According to experts the most popular resolutions
have to do with getting our health in order, and it turns
out a lot of folks have pretty similar goals when it
comes to shaping up for 2011. So here’s a list of the
top 4 New Year’s resolutions and the simple, natural
solutions that can help you achieve your goals and stay
healthy all year long.
Goal #1: Weight Loss
Common sense tells us there is no
magic bullet when it comes to shedding those excess pounds,
so do yourself a favor and skip the gimmicks and fad
diets. Instead, add more healthy, high-fiber
foods to your diet and cut back on sugary,
high-fat and processed foods which often contain unhealthy
additives and preservatives that can slow down healthy
metabolism. A natural
cleansing formula is a great way to jumpstart weight
loss, and herbal
support supplements can help reduce cravings and
promote healthy blood sugar so you can stick to your
goal.
Goal #2: More Energy
Juggling the responsibilities of
work, family and social activities can sometimes leave
us feeling tired and worn
out, but making simple changes to our daily routine
can go a long way toward giving us the added boost we
need to get active. Commit to a healthy diet, remember
to drink plenty of water (at
least half your body weight in ounces daily), and follow
a regular cleansing
and detox program to help eliminate harmful toxins
that can build up in the body and sap your energy. Experts
also recommend between 7 to 9 hours of solid
sleep every night, but even adding an extra half
hour can make a big difference in your daily energy level.
Goal #3: Less Stress
Prolonged stress can lead to poor digestion,
slow metabolism, and even high blood pressure, weight
gain, depression and fatigue. However, one of the simplest
things we can do to decrease our daily stress level is
learn to set reasonable goals. Start by planning ahead
with a monthly calendar to help you “mentally organize”
the days ahead, and resist the urge to cram too much
into your schedule. Then step back, take a deep breath,
and cut yourself some slack. Everything will get done.
Goal #4: Quit Smoking
Kicking the nicotine habit is one
of the hardest things to do, and quitting “cold turkey”
is even harder. So my advice? Start slowly, and take
one step at a time. Have one less cigarette a day, or
try replacing smoke breaks with another activity you
find enjoyable, such as talking with a friend on the
phone, taking the dog for a walk, or spending time with
a loved one. Herbal
supplements may also provide added support to help
ease cravings and support lung and respiratory health.
Best wishes for a healthy New Year,
